Field note 08 / The return trip /

The squish gets sticky.

The press worked. The splat forgot the conveyor was moving.

Godot prototype footage: the lower splat rides the belt while the upper mess stays with the stamp.

I thought I was done with Rusty's unfortunate meeting with the parcel press. Then I watched the belt keep moving under a stain that stayed put in mid-air.

The spray looked better, but the aftermath gave the trick away. So I attached the lower splat to the conveyor and the upper mess to the moving stamp. Seven sticky strands stretch between them and snap when the parts pull apart.

Now the belt can stop, reverse or pause and the mess goes with it. Rusty still pops back at the checkpoint while the evidence of his mistake heads down the line.

The mark stays on the moving belt now.

The evidence now travels with the belt

This is footage from the Godot test scene, not a finished island location. I still need to decide whether there's too much spray and how the colours read in different lighting. I've checked the extra wet marks in Forward+ but haven't done the same visual pass on Mobile.

That is a lot of attention for one cartoon splat. I know. But the floating stain was bothering me.
